Encouraging a love of reading is one of the most important goals at Wisdom School. Last year we started our classroom library initiative to help children develop reading habits and discover the joy of books.
During the 5 year old stage, children experience a key moment in their approach to letters and reading. By always respecting each child’s individual pace, our aim is to spark their curiosity about books and the wonderful stories they contain.
Through the Classroom Library we also work on responsibility and care for books, reminding the children that books are a shared treasure for the whole class.
Each week, the children take home one book from the collection “Escuela de Monstruos”. They mark their library card with a sticker every time they borrow a book. Once they have taken home and read all nine books, they get to keep their library card as a special recognition of their effort.
Fomentar el amor por la lectura es uno de los objetivos más importantes en Wisdom School. El año pasado pusimos en marcha la iniciativa de la Biblioteca de Aula con la finalidad de crear un hábito lector y despertar el gusto por las letras.
Durante el curso de 5 años se produce un momento clave de acercamiento a las letras y a la lectura. Respetando siempre el ritmo de cada niño, pretendemos despertar su curiosidad por los libros y por las historias que contienen.
Además, con la Biblioteca de Aula trabajamos la responsabilidad y el cuidado de los libros, insistiendo en que los libros son un tesoro que pertenece a toda la clase.
Cada semana los niños y niñas se llevan a casa un libro de la colección “Escuela de Monstruos” y marcan su carné con una pegatina. Cuando han conseguido llevarse los 9 ejemplares, pueden llevarse su carné a casa como reconocimiento a su esfuerzo.
